Flex MSE Introduces FlexClamp™, a Purpose-Built Geomodular Bag Clamp System for Faster, Safer Wall Installation
New NC-1 and NC-2 clamps let a single excavator operator place geomodular bags without manual handling, with a field-convertible mechanism built for wet and muddy sites.
Surrey, Canada — July 13, 2026 — Flex MSE, the Canadian developer of a vegetated retaining wall system engineered to outlast concrete and steel, today announced the launch of FlexClamp™, a new excavator-mounted clamp built to speed the installation of its geomodular bags.
Flex MSE’s Vegetated Wall System replaces traditional hardscape construction with a modular, vegetated facing that stabilizes slopes, shorelines, and roadways while adapting to shifting terrain over time. Engineered for a service life of more than 120 years and backed by a 75-year warranty, it has been installed on wall, erosion-control, and slope-stability projects across a range of environments — including underwater applications — at a fraction of the embodied carbon of concrete or steel.
FlexClamp was developed to solve a straightforward field problem: placing dozens or hundreds of geomodular bags by hand slows installation and adds strain to crews. The FlexClamp attaches to an excavator bucket by chain and shackle, allowing one operator to lift, position, and release each bag while a single worker guides placement at the wall face.
The system ships in two configurations. The NC-1 uses a manual hook-release mechanism, while the NC-2 adds FlexCam, an auto-locking mechanism that opens and closes as the clamp contacts each bag, removing a manual step from every lift. On wet or muddy sites, the NC-2 can be field-converted to the NC-1’s hook-release mechanism in minutes.
